Getting ready for my nieces wedding the 8th of October. Got to take pictures, which I'm a little nervous about, since it's indoors. Maybe they will turn out ok..Traded my gun I won a few weeks ago for a Mossberg 500 shotgun. It's a gun I've been wanting, and I finally got a chance to get one! It kicks a little, but I plan on doing some mods on it, where it's a little easier to shoot.

Good Weekend
Had a great weekend, hard to believe that its the mid-week already! Went metal detecting Saturday and found my best coin to date, a 1934 "wheat" penny. Not a valuable find, but I consider it a great one. Went yesterday evening to a old school and found several pennies, and only one dime. I'm guessing this area had been searched before and someone had already gotten the silver coins. None of the coins I found were old, but it's still a lot of fun digging up the unknown! The photo is some of the coins I dug yesterday.

Sportsman Jamboree
Sold custom pens again last night at the Sportsman Jamboree in Ruston. Only sold one pen, but was sure surprised to win a gun! They had several door prizes, and the grand prize was a H&R .444 cal. single shot. I did not think I would win anything, but got real excited when they called out my ticket number! I had won! Hopefully, I'll kill at least one deer with it! Thankful for Jason Bullock who donated the gun also!

New Hobby!
In addition to fishing, I have a new hobby...treasure hunting! I bought a Bounty Hunter metal detector yesterday, and tried it out today to get the feel of how it works. I found a few things, and a few coins. Of course nothing of great value, but it was fun getting out and looking. Here's today's "treasure".

September 11th
9-11-01. Hard to believe it's been 10 years since the attacks on our great country. I remember being in Tuesday Morning on that terrible Tuesday morning. I was with my mother and brother doing some shopping. My brother was in the checkout line when the people in line started getting calls about a plane hitting the Twin Towers. My brother then told me and my mom to go to his vehicle and turn on the radio to see what was going on. As we listened to the tragedy unfold, it became obvious this was clearly a terrorist attack. We left Tuesday Morning and went across the road to a convenient store, where I called my wife from a pay phone, since we didn't have a cell phone yet. She said another plane had hit the Pentagon. She said planes were just hitting everywhere randomly. I made sure she was ok, our children were 8 and 6 at the time. After hanging up, I remember scanning the sky wondering, would one hit here? I was scared. What was going on and when would it end? We headed home, and after a little while I drove out to where my Dad was mowing a yard. He had not heard of the attacks, so I told him the news. We went inside of the elderly lady's house and watched the unthinkable happen. Ten year later it's still as real to me as the day it happened. I pray for all who lost loved ones that day, also for Mr. Bush who was our President then. I thought he did a great job leading our country in the time of uncertainty, fear, and confusion. May we never forget 9-11-01.

Weekend!!
Here at work on the last night of graveyard shift, looking forward to a great weekend. Tomorrow we head to ElDorado, Arkansas for the South Arkansas Outdoor Expo to sell hand-made pens. I entered my second photo contest there, and to my amazement, I won 1st place on the Wildlife category! The photo I entered was one I took at Black Bayou in Monroe, of a dragonfly. I got a good close-up shot of it before it fluttered away. There were about 35 photos in the Wildlife category, so I was really shocked to see my photo with the blue ribbon hanging on it! Looking forward to selling a few pens tomorrow, hope I can stay awake!

Great Weekend!
My niece, who is getting married in October came down this weekend with her future mother and sister in law, and had a great visit with them all! We went to Fiesta Linda in Sterlington Saturday, then The Fish House on Sunday! Both were great! Looking forward to her wedding, glad she has made the decision to get married! We also had great services Sunday, even though our pastor was away preaching. We always miss him when he and his family are gone!! Looking forward to another great week!

Switchfoot - The Beautiful Letdown
Well, this will be my first CD review. First of all, I listen to all kinds of Christian music, from J.J. Heller, to Jeff and Sheri Easter, to Building 429, to the Hinsons, to Third Day. You get the idea..Anyway, I buy 90% of my CD's from thrift stores and yard/garage sales, so if it's someone I think I might enjoy, I buy it. I got Switchfoot-The Beautiful Letdown CD at Rolling Hills thrift store in Ruston, La. This is the first CD I own from this group, simply because I'm not a big Switchfoot fan. Anyway, the song "Dare You To Move" is on this project, so I decided to give it a listen. So far, I've listened to it 3 or 4 times, and it's not a bad CD at all. My favorites so far are "This Is Your Life", "Dare You To Move", "Gone", and "Twenty-Four". I compare these guys to Audio Adrenalin, again, not a favorite group of mine, but they do have a few good songs I like. Overall, I'd give it a 6 out of 10, with 10 being the best. Hopefully more reviews coming soon!

The Week..
This week seems to be dragging by, I guess it's because I started working Sunday, instead of Monday. It seems it should be Friday already! Then, I gotta work Saturday too! Thankful for the overtime though. Hope everyone has a great week ahead of them!

Great Day!
Got the call this evening that I would not have to go to work, which is good in one way, and not so good on the paycheck. The reason being, our melamine line depends on our production side to make us wood to run, but the production line has been down, and started up last night (I think), so now, they gotta make the wood, then it has to sit in the warehouse three days before we can run it. We are supposed to work tomorrow, off Friday and Saturday, then back to work Sunday. Confusing. Anyway, had a great day today, worked in my storage building some, grilled burgers, went fishing and just enjoyed being off. We did get some MUCH needed rain this evening, which reminds me I need to find where my roof is leaking!

Revamp!
It's time to revamp my blog! I will be posting my thoughts, reviews on Christian music, and just my take on life, and growing older! Today, I will begin working for a new company, Roseburg Forest Products. It will be interesting to see how they match up against the my former employers, (Willamette, Weyeraheuser and Flakeboard). I hope it will be a great company to work for!
